A Short Biography.

Cameron & Carmel Mackenzie - The Flynn Patrol SA

Carmel and I both grew up on the land. Doing ministry in the country has been a desire for both of us throughout our lives. Cameron grew up in Brewarrina (NW NSW) and Carmel in Manilla (NSW).

Prior to beginning PIM in SA, Cameron was a diesel mechanic and had done approximately 6 years ministry in Sydney in the TAFE system and part-time in a church. Carmel was a high school maths teacher for 9 years and enjoyed the vast experiences in ministry that this brought.

Our patrol in SA covers a large area. We visit stations north of Port Augusta, out to the NSW, NT and QLD borders. There are approximately 250 stations we visit, but each station may have anywhere from 1 person to 20 people (including workers), so all in all there are a vast range of people we minister to.

The difficulties most of our contacts face is the lack of rain and the ever increasing issue of getting people to work on the land. So many seem attracted to the mines and the higher wages!

We are enjoying our ministry with PIM thus far and have developed many worthwhile friendships with out contacts. We appreciate the support from our friends and family in the Church and ask that you “pray for us too that God may open a door for our message so that we may proclaim the mystery of Christ” Colossians 4:3
